Homesteading Skills Week

Spend a week at Calypso Farm immersed in an array of homesteading activities!

Calypso’s Homesteading Skills course is an active week, full of hands-on learning in a range of homesteading activities including food production, wood working, animal husbandry, food preservation and more.

Topics include:

• Food preservation and storage
• Animal Husbandry: keeping small flocks of chickens, sheep and goats
• Tips for planning and growing food, herbs and flowers
• Farm crafts including green wood carving, birch bark weaving and wool crafts
• Ecology: explore the surrounding Boreal Forest
• Beekeeping basics
