At NANA Management Services (NMS), we proudly provide Alaska’s top school nutrition program, serving K-12 students across the state. Our dedicated team of Alaskans brings the state’s rich natural resources and culinary traditions to life, crafting programs that celebrate Alaska’s Indigenous food pathways.

Our Deliciously Indigenous culinary program highlights the power of Indigenous ingredients like wild Alaska seafood, berries, game, and fresh produce. From celebrating Alaska seafood menu items to honoring Elders, to teaching youth the proper method of field dressing wild game in class, our programs nourish students’ bodies and minds. This program fosters a deep, lasting connection in Alaska schools to the abundance of our state’s resources. 

Our partnerships with local producers and hunters strengthen these efforts. To prioritize local ingredients, we implement the “Fish to School” program developed by the Sitka Conservation Society and work with community farmers and producers. 

Through Deliciously Indigenous, we educate students on nutrition, offer career exploration, and provide introductions to food sovereignty, security, and sustainability. 

While allowing our youth to harness the importance of self-sustaining food practices enjoyed in our state, Deliciously Indigenous instills values that honor the first people of Alaska’s rich traditions and resources. The skills they gain prepare them for life and an unbreakable connection to cultural heritage.
