How do you pack a party into a 8 ounce jar? Ask the ladies behind VooDoo Jams. Kim Kovol and Noelle Hardt combine hand made jams with local spirits, beer, and other flavors to make their deliciously unique concoctions. Toast never had it so good! Their fall line-up includes:

Mother Pucker  —  Lemon marmalade infused with Anchorage Distillery Benefactor Black Vodka and blueberry jam, and also a bit of Benefactor Black Vodka. We love the ombre layering of jams in this beautiful jar. The VooDoo ladies recommend this one with brie or cream cheese. Added bonus? $2.00 from every jar sold benefits Wounded Warriors.

Cage & Tumble —  Blackberries meet Spice & Tea Exchange lemon verbena with a splash of Otter Rock Oyster Porter from Eagle River’s Odd Man Rush Brewing Company. Not too sweet, with a bright citrus finish. You can find Cage & Tumble smeared on the popular grilled cheese sandwich at Anchorage’s Bread & Brew, but it also makes a tasty steak topper.

The Whipper —  This was our favorite of the three. Fresh D'Anjou pears and ginger combined with Double Shovel Cider Company's Extra Dry Hard Cider and a touch of Spice & Tea Exchange ancho pepper. Don’t worry, the heat is gentle. We’re gonna dump a healthy serving of this jam over a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream, but we’re also thinking about blending it with cream cheese and slathering it on a slice of warm challah.
