The Alaska Botanical Garden (ABG) will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary with a summer solstice Garden Party and Fundraiser on June 21st from 5:30–8:30 PM at the Garden.

Tickets are on sale now – $75 in advance and $90 at the door. A special Perennial level for dedicated supporters costs $500, and includes two tickets and a perennial from the collection at the Garden.

The Garden Party will feature local beers, wine, appetizers from SOUTH Restaurant + Coffeehouse, live music, art for sale from dozens of local artists, and an incomparable setting – as the Garden celebrates its first 25 years.

The Garden officially opened to the public on July 25, 1993, boasting of about 200 members. Today, ABG occupies about 110 acres and includes two hardy perennial gardens, an herb garden, trailside gardens, an alpine rock garden, an entry shade garden, a wildflower trail, a Junior Master Gardener plot, a research and development site, the Forest Health Trail, and the Lowenfels-Hoersting Family Nature Trail.

In 2014, the Anchorage Heritage Garden was added in connection with the city’s centennial celebration. The latest addition, a nursery greenhouse, was completed in 2017 and expands the Garden’s growing, teaching, and research capabilities.

The Alaska Botanical Garden is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing the beauty and value of Alaska’s gardens and natural areas through science, education, and recreation using organic and sustainable practices.

The Garden is located in Anchorage, just South of Tudor Road at 4601 Campbell Airstrip Road, adjacent to Far North Bicentennial Park.
