Field To Vase
Scenic Place Peonies is located on picturesque East Hill, overlooking Kachemak Bay, at an elevation of 1,150 feet and grows 14 cultivars of peonies for the cut-flower market. It is one of Alaska’s largest producers of fresh-cut peony stems.
The Homer, Alaksa Field to Vase Workshop and Dinner are part of the 2017 American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour, a series of elegant, intimate pop-up gatherings, located on seven flower and foliage farms across the country. At each unique meal and through the accompanying farm tour and design demonstrations, guests will make a personal connection between flowers and agriculture as part of America’s floral landscape. They will experience the age-old art and science of flower farming while being served platters of delicious, seasonal and locally-grown fare through four courses, including specialty desserts accompanied by vintage wines, micro-brewed beers and floral-inspired cocktails.

Savor a multi-course artisanal pop-up dinner experience, featuring a chef-prepared meal made with locally-sourced foods, amid the stunning blooms at Scenic Place Peonies. Tablescapes will feature the floral designs of Arielle Chezar, florist, farmer and author of “Flowers for the Table” and the upcoming book, “The Flower Workshop.”

Multi-Stop Flower Field Tour -- Sunday, July 30
In addition to the July 29 dinner and July 28-29 workshop, maximize your time in Alaska on a five-hour tour of Alaska Peony Marketing Group’s farms. This tour begins at Alaska Perfect Peony and then moves to Joslyn Peonies, where you’ll enjoy a seasonal lunch on the farm. Following lunch, visit Chilly Root Peony Farm to savor the floral glory and glacial vistas within sight of the farm.
