Nolan Park Sour

November 11, 2022

Ingredients

  • 1½ ounces (3 tablespoons) high rye bourbon (I prefer Four Roses)
  • ¾ ounce (1½ tablespoons) clove infused honey syrup
  • ¾ ounce (1½ tablespoons) lemon juice
  • ½ ounce (1 tablespoon) pinot noir
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
For the clove-infused honey syrup
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons whole cloves

Preparation

To make the syrup, add the honey and water to a small saucepan and heat over medium heat on stovetop until the liquid begins to simmer, stirring until completely combined. Add the whole cloves, reduce the heat to medium low and cover. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and strain with a fine mesh strainer. Bottle. Refrigerated, syrup will keep for up to 1 month.

Add all Nolan Park sour ingredients to a shaker except the wine. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice in a 10-ounce old fashioned glass. Slowly pour the pinot noir over the top of the cocktail, so it floats on the surface.
