Your Kids Will Love This Fun Holiday Activity

Hands-on fun for the whole family

Hey kids, here’s an easy way to help get ready for a holiday party or just add some fun to dinner this winter! All you need are some fresh flour tortillas, your favorite holiday cookie cutters, and a parent or guardian’s permission to use the oven.

Ingredients

Gather together:
  • flour tortillas
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • cookie cutters
  • salt and chili powder or sugar and cinnamon

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350º and spray a cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray

Using cookie cutters, cut fun holiday shapes out of the tortillas. Try and get as many shapes as you can out of each tortilla, and be sure to save the scraps because we’re going to cook those too.

Place the cut-outs on the cookie sheet and spray the tops with non-stick cooking spray. You can leave them plain, you can sprinkle them with salt and a little bit of chili powder to use for a dip like salsa, or you can sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar for a sweet treat. Spread the scraps out on the tray as well, and season — they won’t look as pretty but they make a tasty snack.

Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Set a timer so they don’t burn.

Happy Holidays!
