This conference brings together Alaskans and national experts, focused on our local foodsheds together to create connections, share resources, and experiences to overcome the challenges facing local food access all over Alaska. As a local vegetable farmer in Fairbanks, having a strong, sustainable, vibrant farmers market has been the most important market factor to our farm's success.

Having a statewide association stand with and support our farmers market increases the chances of long term viability and sustainability… for both the market and my farm. The Alaska Food Festival and Conference, in collaboration with the Alaska Farmers Market Association, is our chance to give input, learn about, and influence the efforts to make Alaska’s farmers markets and local food systems stronger. This conference is the place and time to make a difference.
