brew@602
Cresting the hill on the edge of Soldotna, glance up and you’ll see a retired Alaska Railroad passenger car proudly sitting on rails. Welcome to brew@602, which offers exceptional locally-roasted coffee from SteamDot and a selection of homemade sweet and savory Belgium waffles made from scratch. This family-run business opened its doors to adventurous passengers in December 2017, and has been happily chugging along ever since. On board 602, an original 1954 bi-level commuter railcar, you’ll enjoy handcrafted espresso and our waffle offerings, which are served in a basket and meant to be eaten with your hands, like a donut! Experience it all on original seating with amazing views of the Kenai Mountains.
They also feature a variety of tea from Harney & Sons, hand scooped ice cream, nitro cold brew, pourovers, and specialty espresso beverages. Pair their signature drinks, like the Midnight Sun Mocha (prepared with house made ganache) or their Loco Latte (made with real maple syrup) with homemade biscotti, coffee cake, and their original Matcha Blondies. They offer dine-in and to-go for the road, as well as soy, almond, coconut, and oat milk alternatives. Experience the nostalgia of the Alaska Railroad and “whet your whistle” with freshly roasted coffee made with a “latte” love. It’s a journey you’re not likely to forget. All Aboard! Tesla charging station available.
