Alaska Barley Cereal, Yogurt & Berry Breakfast Parfait

While this is meant for breakfast, it'd be great for lunch or an after-school snack, too!

Ingredients

SERVINGS: 1 Serving(s)
  • 1/2 cup yogurt, divided
  • 1/2 cup prepared Alaska Flour Company barley cereal
  • 3 tablespoons jam
  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts
  • chia or flax seeds (optional)
  • honey, maple syrup, or birch syrup, for drizzling (optional)

Preparation

Prepare barley cereal according to package instructions.

Layer the ingredients into the bowl or jar beginning with half of the prepared cereal, then half of the yogurt, then the jam. Repeat the cereal and yogurt layers and top with fresh berries, nuts, and seeds (if using). Drizzle with honey, maple syrup or birch syrup for an extra special treat.

Note: If packing for lunch, store nuts and seeds in an airtight container and add just before eating.
