Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pecans
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 3 tablespoons orange peel
- 1 teaspoon gentian root
- 1 teaspoon devils club root
- 1 teaspoon cinchona bark
- 1 teaspoon wild cherry bark
- One cup chopped apple
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup black currants
- 1/2 cup Demerara syrup
- 3 cups vodka
Preparation
Toast the nuts on a baking sheet at 350 F for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Place all ingredients except the syrup in a jar and store at room temp in a dark place for three weeks. Shake the jar every day.
After three weeks, strain the liquid to remove the solids and stir in the Demerara syrup. Cover and store at room temp for two more weeks shaking every day. Bottle and enjoy!
