Sauté minced garlic and chopped onions in a pan with olive oil. Add tomatoes and shrimp with a little fish sauce (patis). Then, add the veggies that need more time to cook, like lima beans and squash. Sauté for about 5 minutes or so, stirring constantly, then add string beans, okra, and lastly, the bitter melon and 1 cup of water. Let it simmer, stir and cover until the vegetables are cooked through.
