Holiday Almond Cocktail

This is Jenn Tyldesley’s favorite way to enjoy amaretto. Her original recipe in Cold Spell uses gin, but I prefer bourbon or rye, which she says is just fine.

Ingredients

SERVINGS: Makes 1 Cocktail
  • 1½ ounces gin (or substitute your bourbon of choice—maybe Port Chilkoot Distillery’s Boatwright Bourbon from Haines, Alaska)
  • ½ ounce amaretto
  • 5–6 drops Free Pour Jenny’s Solstice Bitters Amarena cherries in syrup, or homemade Bourbon Cherries (recipe above)

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir until well chilled. Strain into a snifter or rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a cherry.
