Snugged against the Chugach foothills, the Alaska Botanical Garden is 110 acres of forestland interspersed with beautiful garden plots. The facility’s plant-themed summer camps have been a hands-on option for kids ages 5–13 for years, and programs have expanded beyond the “how-to” curriculum.

Campers will learn about gardening, yes, but also soils, wildlife, cooking, and art, all related to the natural world in which they live.

Cost for camp sessions ranges from $150–$250 per week, and includes all materials and weekly projects to take home. Camps include “Growing Gardeners,” “The Artful Gardener,” “Garden Chefs,” and “The Young Botanist.”
