Ingredients
- 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2½ tablespoons powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 2 shots espresso or 4-8 ounces coffee
- 1 cup warm milk of your choice
- 1 tablespoon caramel syrup (optional: for an infused beverage, use 1 of our Carmelitos)
- Sea salt (try the Spit Salt from Alaska Salt Co.)
- Caramel sauce for rim
- Crushed pretzels for rim
- Your favorite chocolate sauce (optional)
Preparation
Make the Chocolate Whipped Cream:
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients. Using a mixer with a whisk attachment, whip ingredients together until stiff peaks begin to form. This may take a few minutes. Keep whipped cream chilled until ready to serve.
Note: Makes enough for 4 drinks.
Make the Latte:
Pour caramel sauce onto a plate and crushed pretzels on a second plate. Dip the rim of the glass into the caramel and then into the crushed pretzels.
Drizzle chocolate sauce around the inside of the glass. Add 1 tablespoon of caramel (or a Carmelito) into the glass (or a Carmelito). Pour the hot coffee over the caramel and stir. Add the warm milk. Top with a dollop of whipped cream. Top with salt and garnish with a pretzel.
Note: Can be served cold. Just add ice and use cold milk.
